Everyday our bodies pump blood through our system, and they do so through our veins and arteries. Our legs are the more common place to suffer complications such as varicose veins due to the excess pressure we place on them. This often occurs after pregnancy. Compression stockings and other support hosiery are designed to relieve pressure from the veins so that blood flow increases.
When my sister was having her second baby my mother told her to get a good pair of compression socks. She already had signs of varicose veins from her first pregnancy and she did not want the condition to worsen. In the months leading up to my niece’s birth, my sister was much more comfortable.
Funny enough, the use of these compression socks did not end there. Buying these accessories was a smart decision because now my sister spends a lot of her time carrying my niece. She has grown quite attached to her mommy and refuses to be put down. It looks like my sister has a few more years before she can relieve her legs but, at least for the time being, there is a product to help reduce problems.
